The company
You will be working with a growing Victorian-based civil contractor, who have been in operation for over 20 years, working for both private and public sector clients. A family-owned business, they take pride in looking after their people and providing a great environment for people to work. They are a respected player in the Victorian market and as such have seen strong growth as the industry has grown in recent years.
  
The role
Due to the growth of the business and workload, they are now in search of an experienced estimator or senior estimator to join their team, based in the North-Western suburbs of Melbourne. You will have the opportunity to price a variety of projects as the head contractor, and also pricing packages of work on major projects for tier one contractors. You will work across a spectrum of market sectors including major road and rail projects, local govt. infrastructure, water, civil for commercial and earthworks.
  
The role will see you work closely with the pre-contracts manager in assessing and selecting projects to tender, and managing the full project estimation process. You will liaise with the delivery team regarding construction methodologies in order to put the best and most competitive solutions to clients, and the role may require you to conduct site visits from time to time.
  
About you
To be successful you will be a degree qualified civil engineer (or similar), with at least 8 years’ experience in civil construction. You will have experience in at least one (but preferably multiple) of the transport infrastructure, water or earthworks sectors. Ideally, you will have experience using Expert Estimation.
  
If you have previous delivery experience and have spent some time learning the estimating process well, and are capable of running tenders on your own from first principles through to tender review and presenting to clients, this is the role for you.
  
You will have a strong work ethic and a desire to achieve strong outcomes for the business, which will lead to personal reward. You will be a strong communicator (both verbally and written)and have well developed time management skills.
